NORA MACCOBY BIO
Born in Mexico City, and working between DC and LA, Nora Maccoby is a conceptual artist, painter in oil and light, award winning screenwriter, (Buffalo Soldiers, Bongwater), and author of the metafiction experience “The Intelligence”. Her work encompasses a reconstructivist adaptation of ancient theologies, rewriting archetypes, and the intersection of modern gravitational physics, time-space travel, theories of invisible worlds, and a primal drive to create harmony from chaos.
A 2018 winner of the Leonardo World Artist award, Nora’s oil paintings have been exhibited at the Ca’Zanardi in Venice, Temple University Gallery in Rome, at the Corcoran Museum of Art and the Women’s National Democratic Club Museum for her show and book: “identity Cartography” Maps and Symbols for the Heterarrchy”. Her first collaboration with NOIRFLUX, “Surfing Stardust: Destination Earth”, debuted at The Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC in December 2017. She is currently installing a show in a church in Shaw, DC, called "The Church Where Miles Davis Plays”.

Lorne Covington and Bill Saiff, aka NOIRFLUX, create participatory environments that provide immersive exploration, education, advocacy, and improvisational expression.
Lorne, fluent with visual and performing arts, electronic hardware, embedded systems, and all layers of software development, focuses on the intangible space between action and response, the moment-to-moment experience of involvement with a complex system that turns the act of viewing into one of exploration, creation, and play.
Bill, a leader in User Experience (UX) research and User-Centered Design for over two decades, designs interfaces that seamlessly respond to the people who use them, producing the immersive, direct, interaction central to our participatory installations.
