BIO

Wednesday Kim is an interdisciplinary artist and a co-founder of De:Formal Online Gallery, currently based out of Alaska (originally from South Korea, also having lived in Los Angeles, New York, among others). Kim works with 3D-animation, video, performance; a mixture of analog, digital, prints, installation, and sculptures. Her work is an assemblage of human psychology and personal experiences in the sub-conscious; such as nightmares, intrusive thoughts, and childhood trauma. Furthermore, she portrays the absurdity of contemporary life that is overloaded with information in a surrealist fashion through wordplay, Wikipedia, memes, internet addiction and witticism.

Her work has been shown in El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe (New Mexico, USA), The Lodge Gallery (Los Angeles, USA), Jan Brandt Gallery (Chicago, USA),  Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma, (Rome, Italy), Sarean Cultural Center (Bilbao, Spain), Cultura Lanzarote, (Las Palmas, Spain),  Mimosa House gallery (London, UK), ”PULSE” NEW YORK contemporary art fair (New York, USA), Index Art Center, Newark (NJ, USA), The Dock Arts Centre (Leitrim, Ireland), Medrar For Contemporary Art, (Cairo,Egypt) Espace Projet, (Montreal, Quebec) and more.
