Last Resort Club is an artist collective based in the beautiful Rocky Mountains that specializes in speculative & sustainable design for the end of the fucking world. Last/Resort is a double entendre that speaks to our current pandemic-controlled climate and to the anxieties, absurdities, and desperation that define life in the time of coronavirus.

For the artists who comprise Last/Resort Club, the pandemic’s onset and ensuing lockdown resulted in cancelled exhibitions, delayed MFA graduations and the usual existential dread accompanying a global health crisis. In response, Last/Resort was born - a curated collection of artworks, exhibited online as an irreverent pastiche of a luxury home goods and interior design brand. Last/Resort addresses our collective coronavirus disruption through emerging technologies, craft, beauty and humor.

On a metaphysical level, Last Resort refers to the perceived end of an era: empty hotels, deserted airports, infected cruise ships docked off-shore with passengers confined to their cabins. Now that the home has become the final frontier, how do we exist (and co-exist)? What does our absence mean for the eco-system? How do we go forward, without going back? How long will this last? We’re all in this together…in our separate homes.

Art Fairs & Exhibitions

Prior to the pandemic, members of the Last/Resort Club have been exhibited in Denver at Redline, Leon Gallery, and the Vicki Myhren Gallery, at CADAF, Miami, and in Berlin, Germany at Karl Oskar Gallery, among other venues.
