ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE + GENERATIVE ART

Recently there has been a lot of interest in AI as Sotheby's and Christie's have sold works created with machine learning (specifically GANs) in the last 12 months. However, AI art is part of a rich history of generative art that goes back 70 years to the analog oscillograms of Herbert W. Franke and the first computer-based works by artists like Michael Noll and Ken Knowlton.
